Instead it feels like Volk is a beast evaluating its prey. While he's been attacking all along, Volk hasn't really done anything yet. However, Byoudouin doesn't share their excitement.
The crowd is excited, saying that Byoudouin is evenly matched with Volk and that they're watching a match between the world's strongest players. Oni says that this is Byoudouin's true strength and that Niou's Illusion wasn't even half as strong. Tokugawa realizes that Byoudouin only played at 60% during their match. While Volk manages to return the ball, Byoudouin continues his onslaught with Claw of the Chinese Fire Dragon and Roar of the African Simba to level the score at 2-2. Back in the present, Oni is surprised by Byoudouin's Exotic of Japan. Byoudouin wants to polish his interdimensional powers further to defeat three particular opponents: Amadeus, the "Assassin of the Battlefield", Medanore, the "Genius Maverick", and Volk, the "Philosopher of Victory". Duke asks Byoudouin where they're heading next. The chapter starts with a flashback to Byoudouin's and Duke's travels. "Auf der Jagd" is a polka by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II. Note that the chapter title can also be read simply as "Hunting". To give Volk a taste of his skills, he starts off with Exotic of Japan. Byoudouin says that by competing with fierce men from all over the world, he has attained various World Techniques. He reveals that Byoudouin has a grip strength of 300kg, putting him on the same level as a gorilla. Duke recalls the time when he traveled with Byoudouin around the world. Oni adds that both him and Tokugawa have a grip strength of 90kg, which is considered quite good. Tokugawa says that Byoudouin's grip strength is insane. Yukimura is shocked that Byoudouin managed to return Wirbeltaufe so easily. As he returns the shot, Byoudouin thinks that he might have accomplished it after defeating Volk. He asks if Byoudouin managed to accomplish what he had set out to do and hits Wirbeltaufe. Volk says that in the past two years, there've been rumors in the tennis world of a traveling pirate from Asia stirring up trouble. Volk easily returns it and a rally ensues. Byoudouin serves first and open with Destruction. 
Mifune tells Byoudouin not to get cold feet now. Lendoll says that he didn't expect to use Volk in this round.
Japan vs Germany comes down to the S1 match, where Byoudouin has to face Volk.
